This reminds me of some of the comments made by County officials when the press reported the "mystery company" had decided to pass on the Colleton Commerce park. Everyone knows the horseshoes and hand grenades analogy but the fact is this company considering us and coming in a close second or third to Berkeley Co, some site in N.C. or New York doesn't do us a bit of good. It is a loser's mentality, period. You either win or lose and "getting on the map" is a consolation prize that does nothing for the people of Colleton.

The county has millions of dollars invested in infrastructure in the park off of exit 62. It's time to see something for our money.

As I recall, the county received right at 3 million dollars from the commerce department's tobacco fund and then was required to match that amount and that is the sum total of what was spent carrying the water/sewer up to and building the water tank and pump station at the Colleton Commerce Ctr. I also see that the exit ramps have been re-paved and have lights on them. Have the people of Colleton County benefitted from this infrastructure in any way?
