Town Attorney Mullins McLeod on Monday issued a statement saying that Mayor Bert Reeves is in stable but critical condition following a wreck Sunday.
McLeod also denies that Mayor Bert Reeves was driving drunk.
The Highway Patrol Sunday night charged Reeves with driving under the influence after his pickup truck flipped on Peirce Road at about 11:25 p.m. Sunday.
"The investigating officer wrongfully charged Mayor Reeves with driving under the influence," McLeod wrote Monday. "Mayor Reeves was at home with his wife and two children all day on Sunday. He did not consume any alcohol while he was at home with his family."
Read the entire story in Tuesday's Post and Courier. I also plan to post McLeod's entire statement on here sometime tonight.
